A comparative study on AC/DC analysis of an operational low voltage distribution system

In the near future, digitalizing world will continue to improve and need for DC based devices be increased beyond doubt. Today’s electrical grid is strictly dependent on AC-DC rectifiers. Each conversion process means additional power losses signal quality deteriorations network. addition, networks which are fed by batteries renewable sources such as solar panels, wind turbines suffering from conversion-based losses. this respect, idea of switching low voltage side has become an intriguing subject. study, applicability efficiency direct current (LVDC) concept distribution systems discussed a sample LVDC system analyzed. operational residential application transient analyzer program (ETAP) employed comparison different levels 110 V<sub>DC</sub>, 250 320 V<sub>DC</sub> conventional 220/380 V<sub>AC</sub>. As novel approach compared with typical AC in detail. Comparative analysis conducted safety regulations, drops, carrying capacities, consumption harmonic calculation proposed system. respect applicability, possible drawbacks future aspects interpreted.
